Royal Palace TteokBokkI

          You can easy put this delicious dish together. It is great as appetizer, good dish for some beer          with friend gathering, etc. Or if you are on a college budget like I am, you have a little amount of        different veggies, you can skip the beef (to save) and just buy some Korean rice cake, this dish            would help keeps you full for long time thanks to the rice cake and nutritious as heck with all the        veggies.  Here is the recipe.

 Ingredients:
  • 200g of Korean rice cake
  • 3 -5 Dried Shiitake Mushrooms 
  • A quarter of an onion
  • ½ of a carrot
  •  ½ yellow bell pepper
  • 50g of beef
  • 1 jalapenos  
Sauce:
  • 3 Tbsp of soy sauce 
  • 2 glove of minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil 
  • ⅛ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 stalk of spring onion
  • 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 4 tbs of water of the Shiitake mushroom (use the water that you soak the dried mushroom.     


Procedure
  1. 1.        Boil the rice cake until cook, set aside
  2. 2.       Marinade the beef with all the ingredients in the sauce except water. Let it set for about 15min
  3. 3.       In a hot pan, heat up 1 tsp of oil. Put the beef and the sliced mushroom in.
  4. 4.       After lightly sear the beef, put the veggie in.
  5. 5.       Then put the cooked rice cake in, add the water to let the rice cake absorb all the goodie favor.
  6. 6.       Top with some more roasted sesame seed on top. Woo lah, you have your food.
